November Mom's-Only White Elephant Party

Our next Mom's-only get together will be Monday, November 16 at 6:30pm. Since December gets busy with holiday events, this will be our Nov/Dec get together and we will be doing a white elephant party. Please bring a white elephant gift to exchange!

Homeschool Tubing Party

A homeschool tubing party has been scheduled at Al Quaal for January 29, 5-8pm.  I know it is a little early to think about snow, but they can get booked-up early so we're going to go ahead and get the ball rolling.  We are looking to get some preliminary numbers of people interested, so we can nail down the cost.

 

Here are the facts:

-cost will be $18-22 per family (depends on total attendance)
-the hill provides tubes and tows you back up the hill:)
-the lodge at the bottom of the hill is included with tables, bathrooms, water, and refridgerator
-we will have hot dogs and hot chocolate; please bring a snack to share.

If you are interested in joining us please email me at mjcchic@yahoo.com with your family name, email, phone number, and number of people attending.  I will be following up with each of you for confirmation in mid-December as I will need payments ahead of time.  (I don't want to get stuck with a huge cost myself.) UP Sportsplex Homeschool Day

Wednesday, October 14th from 1-3 pm will be our homeschool day at the UP Sportsplex. Cost will be $6 per participant and that covers all activities except putt putt golf. Rollerskating, bounce houses and slides, and the turf will all be included. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. The UP Sportsplex is located at 1110 Wright Street in Marquette. While RSVP is not mandatory, it would be appreciated to give the staff an estimate of how many to expect. Last minute walk ins are welcome too! RSVP can be sent to marquettechums@yahoo.com. October field trip

A Home school Field Trip is planned for October 2nd, 9:45 am, at the DNR Fish Hatchery on Cherry Creek Road, Marquette (driveway is on Ford Rd).
We will meet in the visitor's center, the guided tour will take about an hour and you are free look around after that. Parents are required to accompany children. If you have any questions please call Melissa Collins at 869-6078 or email mjcchic@yahoo.com. If you would be interested in getting together for a picnic lunch afterward let her know!

Homeschool 4-H Club

A new homeschool 4-H club called "Marquette Explorers 4-H Club" was started recently in Marquette County.  Meetings are held in the Peter White Library once a month, 12pm on a Tuesday.  This is the clubs facebook page:

The club welcomes all families to join us for a "Brushbot" project at our next meeting that's going to be held September 15, 12pm in the Arts and Culture Center, Room 1, basement of the Peter White Library.  Cost is $1.
